Kid Stuff catalog cover sketches.jpg
Here is the initial rough and cleaned up sketches for the fall Kid Stuff catalog cover. The client wanted to make sure the Veggie tales toy was prominately showcased so I placed one of them centered in the illustration. I also wanted to show the little boy with a missing tooth, because what kid that age isn't missing one...right?

Check out the creative progression for a character design I did of a gnarley shredder I created for Paper House. It is one of a series of four I created this past fall for Skateboard Monsters. Art is to be produced on stickers, big wall stickers, magnets etc. Waddayathink? Don't be shy!

Dragon progression by Fian Arroyo
Check out the creative progression of this dragon I created for a licensing company. I started with a rough gesture sketch to get him outta my head...getting to know our little friend. Then I picked out the lines and direction I wanted to head in to flesh him out more. After the rough sketch was done, I thew in some rough color to show the art director how we want this bad boy to look. Then the last step was painting the final art of our fire breathing friend in all his glory...bad breath and all. Waddayathink?

Eville page1sketch by Fian Arroyo
This is the sketch for page 1 of the children's ebook Eville,USA written by the super talented Julia Dweck and illustrated by me. Its a story about where monsters go to get away from it all, a convention of sorts. This sketch shows the monsters in the convention room at a meet and greet. I really like the bigfoot with his head going beyond the image area. Check out the finished art in the Publishing section here at Fian.com. You can always click here to go to Amazon to buy the book...its a super fun story that kids and adults will love!

running-back-sketch by Fian Arroyo
This was the preliminary sketch for the first of two illustrations created for the Miami Herald Football Preview 2012 marketing campaign. I wanted to make this running back a real bruiser, you know, someone that you wouldn't want to get in the way of unless you were in a bulldozer. I think I pulled it off waddayathink? Check out the final art in the commercial portfolio section here.
