Kid Stuff Fall Catalog Cover Illustration

Recently I created an illustration for the Kid Stuff fall catalog cover. The client wanted to show a mixed ethnic family in a restaurant setting, so I thought a caucasion mom and son and hispanic father and daughter would be the best combo. I really thought that showing the boy with a missing tooth was funny and appropriate for that age...what kid that age isn't missing one or more teeth? :-) The Veggie Tales toy was the main focus so I made sure that one of them was in the center of the illustration to catch the viewers attention immediately. You can check out the rough and cleaned up sketches on my sketches page here.

Fian Arroyo art on H-Street skateboard

Mike Owen at a skateboard signing, signing his H-Street signature model with the artwork I did for it last year. Always cool to see my illustrations on the end product. Gave it that regal eagle look, a slight departure from what I usually illustrate. That was such a fun piece to work on, especially when I am so passionate about skateboarding myself. Children's ebook illustration

Here is a humourous children's book illustration for a potential children's ebook. Initially did it to promote the ebook for other avenues. Since then, I have had to pass on doing the rest of the ebook. I just have too many projects on the table that will keep me busy for a long while...which is always a super good thing! Don't you think? :-)

How Fian sees the world

Check out how I see the world. I usually see creatures in everyday things and just thought I would start illustrating them...is that something that needs medical attention? :-)

I was looking out my studio window when I saw this creature in the branches of this fir tree, so I had to sketch it out. So if you see me giggling to myself...now you know why. Does that require medical attention as well? :-)

This could become a regular posting thang...waddayathink?

Road Runner character design

Recently I worked on a character development project for the city of Las Cruces New Mexico's Convention and Visitors Bureau. It is a roadrunner mascot developed for their VIK (Very Important Kids). Here are a few of the many sketches I created along with the final art for one of the poses. Click on the image and check it out. Waddayathink?
